Reviewed by: j.crawford Date: 05/03/2014 Summary: Big, Glossy, Noisey. It took me 3 days to get thru this CGI fantasy film. Whew. I get what they were going for, but everything is just a bit off kilter. The best effect in the film is the hollow thud that Cheng Pei-pei's staff makes when she walks along the wooden floors. Shaw Bros. did it much, much better. Mixing this modern CGI technology with old school live action filmmaking is an exremely difficult recipe to prepare. Reviewer Score: 6
