Esprit D'amour

Summary: Totally underated!

Can't believe that this movie is so unheard of. A sweet, if bittersweet(especially in the end) movie. Must-see.

Basically guy(Alan Tam) meets girl(Joyce Ngai) in the rain, girl falls off building and dies, guy summons her spirit, dead girl keeps hounding him for insurance money and sparks fly. Alan Tam and Joyce Ngai has excellent chemistry together. Ngai is particularly adorable and does a great performance as the ill-fated but sweet girl ghost. The movie had a light, almost cheerful mood throughout. Until the last 10 minutes are so, when the mood quickly changes to dark and gloomy, and in the end, just plain-old sad. The ending though touching, just leaves a depressing, empty feeling in me. Another movie to prove that man and ghost can never be together. A pity.

Love story between a human (Tam) and a ghost (Ni) but set inmodern times. The only thing I remember from it is the moving ballad sung by Alan Tam which helped revitalize his singing career.
