Reviewed by: dandan Date: 06/14/2010 Summary: you're my wife now... teacher cheung (john shum) takes a group of students away to a small, seemingly deserted island, for a weekend of geographical study. all seems well, until they bump into three brothers who live on the island and have a papa lazarou-esque attitude to the ladies. there may be trouble ahead... not a great film, but quite nice usage of location and a touch of creepy, weirdo, backwards yokelism. john shum puts in a good turn, whilst peter chan, billy ching and chan ging do really well in their portrayal of the three brothers; bringing a genuinely unhinged sense of menace, which probably makes the film watchable. nothing special, but watchable.

Reviewed by: MrBooth Date: 09/28/2009 A geography teacher (John Shum) takes 6 of his students on a 2 day field trip to a small, abandoned island off the Hong Kong coast. They soon discover that the island is not quite unpopulated - three brothers live amongst the ruins, and the visitors soon figure out that they might not be entirely sane. The set-up is basically a typical teen-slasher film, shot through with some Deliverance style redneck misbehaviour. The characters are pretty thinly fleshed out, but the locals are colourful. John Shum's teacher is not somebody you want to depend on in a crisis - well, nobody handles the situation terribly well. The story is plausible enough to provide some genuine tension at times, and the location is used to good effect. Reasonably entertaining. 6.5 Reviewer Score: 6
