King of Gambler

What? Nobody else has reviewed this? I am quite surprised, as this was one of the first GOG rip offs that came out in the early ninties. However, it’s probably a good thing that nobody else has seen this, as it gives me a chance to warn everyone else off.

Vincent Lam takes front seat on this film, as the King of Gamblers, who teams up with fellow Queen of Gamblers from the US (an actress I don’t recognize seeing before, Melinda Diane). Together they set up a high stakes gambling quest (hmmm, wonder where I’ve heard that plot before!), trying to win more money than anyone could ever imagine, as they possess supernatural powers (yes, All For The Winners again) and can sense what cards are dealt just by hearing them shuffled (the most ridiculous special power I’ve seen in a gambling film). The man they try to con turns out to be a high up member of the Japanese army, causing many problems as you could probably imagine.

Overall, it’s ridiculous, and the non-connected action scenes are by far more enjoyable than any of the actual story. The funny thing is though, despite the amount of times I laughed at the film, it’s not supposed to be a comedy!

If there is ONE Gambling movie you should miss out on, it’s this one.
