Summary: It cracked me up!

hey, i'm an abc too, but unlike the other reviewer i got all the little in-jokes and slang, and it had me laughing a LOT!!!
bits of it had me in suspense, and maybe im a wimp, but it made me jump. i agree, WTF was with evils??
the cast was really really good, i have to say, this was one of the best movies i've seen in a while. it wasnt really scary, but it eased the tension with some humour from dayo, who i havent seen too much, but i can tell he's a talent! i fully reccommend it!!!
9.5/10

Summary: A very fun one but don't expect more than that.

"Don't Look Back... Or you'll be sorry" ain't that scare enough to attract much audience (interested in horror). However, the comedy part did the job. The first half of the movie was plain fun where the characters were being introduced. Especially when Deannie came back from vacation to join with her daughter (Anita) and there were lots of fun and laughs between Dayo and Deannie. Later, when the main story came, it turned the whole movie into a horror matter (though it's not scary at all but still a catchy move by the director to move on the story). Afterall, the movie ended with a "Big-circle-ending" which was a good one too.

When comparing this movie with other recent ghost/horror releases, I rather recommand this one. Although this movie doesn't have much scary moments to freak you out of your sit but it's fun enough to watch throughout your valuable time.

As to the performances, Deannie's part went more than I expected which was great. Dayo's part was good too but don't expect more from him since if you know what kind of actor he was, you should gets what you expected from this movie. As to Anita, haven't seen her in the big screen for a long time, nothing big from her role in this movie and her performance was fine.

Overall, the cast looks great and the whole movie was enjoyable. Although the movie doesn't have much horror moments but the second part of the movie was a fine light-horror to wrap-up the movie as a whole. This movie is a very fun one but don't expect more than that. So, don't be fooled by the genre of this movie.

Summary: Another watchable throwaway.

Not a lot of scares here; in fact, the horror elements don't kick in for a good forty minutes or so. The light tone kept things watchable, though, and Dayo and Deanie's squabbling was somewhat amusing. Of course, it was nice to see Anita again, too. Another cheap flick that won't kill you if you end up watching, but there's little reason to actively seek it out.

Summary: She sees dead people.....ALL THE TIME

My dad seemed to enjoy this one for all of the HK slang that I didn't get (because I'm an ABC. Don't hold that against me) But personally, I thought this movie sucked. It started out with an interesting premise: A guy named Hwa and a girl named Lisa are newlyweds, and invite the girl's mother Marianne over for a while. Of course, she has a split personality. Whenever the daughter's around, she's a sweet old lady. Whenever she's not, she turns out to be a real bitch, sticking her umbrella up her son-in-law's ass when he drops the luggage, and so forth. I thought this was going to be the whole story, basically a live action version of that Warner Brothers cartoon about the singing frog. But nope, leaving in a huff, the mother-in-law gets hit by a truck and goes to the afterworld, where she meets her dead husband Elvis (but the subtitles kept calling him "Evils". WTF?) She comes back to the land of the living with the amazing (and totally original) power of being able to "see dead people....all the time" and communicate with them as well. Meanwhile an angry female spirit possesses the daughter, and only Marianne can see it. So she ends up trying to find the spirit's still-living boyfriend to coax her out of possessing the daughter. A big old mish-mosh of unoriginal ideas (the Warner Brothers cartoon, "The Sixth Sense", duh), predictability of the plot (Does Marianne find the boyfriend and make the ghost happy? Hmm...) and not a lot of suspense made this one a veritable crapfest. Wong Jing's done better.
