Incredible Kung Fu Mission

I remember this flick coming on TV many times. This flick is about a high kicking fighter named Shao Ting Kang (John Liu) who is hired by some rich guy named Lo Tung (Alan Hsu) to rescue a revolutionist (Chui Chung Hei) from the seal tight fortress of a blonde Warlord named Lu Ping (Robert Tai). Ting Kang can’t rescue the revolutionist alone, so given to him are 5 screwballs whom he must turn into gung fu freaks to assist him in his “Kung Fu Mission”. After a bunch of training in which the gang finally proves their gung fu “worth”, they pose as a troupe of acrobatic performers and infiltrate Lu Ping’s impregnable fortress. Once inside they fight, kill, fight, kill, until eventually everybody is dead and the revolutionary is rescued. Mission accomplished you’d say. Not yet. The plot takes off in another direction as the man who hired Ting Kang to rescue the revolutionary decides to reveal his true colors. Highly enjoyable! Recommended.

A caper in the making. John Liu plays a tough skinny hero that he always plays. But, this is a very memorable masterpiece that played all over the world. Cool soundtrack, and hilarious training scenes with a good cast of good guys and bad guys(especially the blond guy). Also, a strange plot in the end which will be overlooked from all the action. A movie that I never really enjoyed much before because it was played on television too much. But, its greatly appreciated today.
