Biography
 
  Has also worked as Taiwan's highest-paid model for shampoo commercials, and had several attempts at launching a singing career.

Daughter of a basketball player, Wang was raised and educated in Taiwan, where she studied dramatic art in the Kuo Kwang Arts School. One of her commercials drew the attention of taiwanese film industry. Her first film, "It'll Be Very Cold at the Lakeside this Year" attracted the attention of Shaw Brothers' producer Mona Fong, who invited her to star "Let's Make Laugh II" (1985). Her role in "A Chinese Ghost Story" made her a film idol, especially in Japan, where she made the TV series "A Woman From Hong Kong" in 1989 and the film "Peking Man".
