A Hearty Response(1986) An interesting movie, as it doesn't know what type of movie it wants to be. It starts off as a cruel escape to Hong Kong movie, then it turns into cutsey romance comedy and then takes a serious turn to rape scenes and bloody revenge. This rough mix of genres produced by Alan Tang and his brother Rover, stars the charismatic Joey Wong and Chow Yun Fat, who are
talented enough to really make all of the elments in the script work. There
are some well choreograped action scenes, and interestingly, the sound
effects change throught the movie, as it starts off with the sound
effects used in Sammo Hung's old school movie but at the end, the fighting
sound effects change to the loud kickboxing sound effects used in the
Sammo Hung movies of the movies made around the time of this movie. This
change of effects has never happened in any D&B Golden Harvest
productions. Worth a viewing if you are in the mood for something sleazy.
Moderately recommended. **1/2/*****
