1989, the late 80's into the 90's, was the perfect time for the Lucky Stars comedies. The feeling was just right and relaxed, as the masses of bad HK movies just bored the heck out of everybody for a change. Instead of unrealistically competing for the most box office revenue lead by the John Woo and Ringo Lam movies(the lucky stars hilariously parodize the Heroic Bloodshed movies during the final fight, well, not really a fight), fitting into the then great 80's action scenes that was expected to accompany Sammo Hung, this time, the spotlight is on the comedy and the actors. What is great and makes this installment successful is that nobody takes themselves too seriously here, nobody tries to hard for the comedy. The atmosphere is light, everybody just goe free and silly, the script is crazy, and everybody seems to enjoy themselves, as the pressures of HK movie industry aren't seen in this movie, explaining why everyone is having fun, which is a rarity in the HK movie industry. If the lucky stars are having fun, then the viewer will have just as much fun. The script is easy going and the comedy is consitant. One of the best installments in the series. ****/*****
