Snaky Knight Fight Against Mantis (1978)

Summary: Meandering plot and good fights
Any excuse will do for a punch-up. Probably most fu films use this as a plot device, and it certainly is the case here. Even perpetual sniveller Lee Kwan gets into the act ! The opinions and relations between the characters change often and without warning, so I think the script must have been a bit slipshod.

However, the plot turns mainly serve to get the characters into situation where biffo is required and, in that sense, it works pretty well. Don Wong's fu is well up to standard, and he delivers in quantity as well. Carter Wong was a real flop, though. Carter, the super fu guy of many other pictures, gets polished off way too easily here.

The climactic struggle is worth hanging around for. Recommended.
