Summary: A Fun Ride
I hate to just say "ditto" and be done, but there's nothing much to add to Mr. Booth's comprehensive review. I agree with all of his points, especially about this being the type of comedy only Hong Kong puts out, but hasn't recently. It's briskly paced and well put together.

I realize Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi's presence as the leads will cause a lot of people to skip this one. I put it off a long time myself because of Cheng. Like Mr. Booth, when someone is touted to be like Stephen Chow I run in the opposite direction. But he does a good job. No, he's not on the same level as SC, but that can hardly be held against him. He puts in a good performance.

I'm a Charlene Choi fan, but I skipped this one because I heard she wasn't very good in it. It's true, her robot character is nothing to write home about, but fortunately it's not on screen a lot. (Actually, when you learn why the forger Charlene was chosen as the model for the robot, the performance makes sense; it's true to the story.) But she does well in her primary role as the forger; nothing Golden Horse-worthy but not off-putting either. I'd have preferred her to play the character less seriously, more naughty like Chingmy might have done, but at least there was no sucrose overload. Seems odd, coming down on Charlene for being too serious. What a world!

I can't see an eight, but will gladly give it a 7.5.
