Summary: you have unbreastful figure...
when ma (michael hui) is retired from the peoples army, he and his squad; on (alfred cheung), may (sandra ng), yang (simon loui) and bee (peter lai), head back to their village. soon getting bored of working with horses, the five jump at the chance to join ma's cousin, dreaming of getting rich in guangzhou. unfortunately, ma's cousin gets carted off by the police and a life eking out a living on the streets becomes a reality. struggling to get by and having a few run ins with a local gangster, maybe moving to hong kong to see a change in their fortunes...

a decidedly average, or rather poor when you consider the cast, comedy from anthony chan. there's a couple of mildly amusing scenes, but with comedic stalwarts such as hui, ng and cheung, i was expecting something better. the funniest line, quoted above, is only funny thanks to the fact that the subtitler didn't have the greatest grasp of english. at least, when it comes to slinging insults...

there's definitely the potential for a funny film, but it gets lost amongst too many scenes which just clunk along. apart from the scene where the four troops disguise themselves as midgets and the fight with fish heads, there's very few moments of note.

probably best ignored...
