Lover's Tear (1992)

Don't be fooled! Yukari has only a tiny bit part. Samo has a minorsupporting role, and the always wonderful Lam Ching Ying has a fairly substantial supporting role. I don't know who the actors playing the two main lovers are, in this film. Over all not a bad story, about a young deaf-mute woman who feels indebted to the triad boss who rescued her from a life of prostitution, but who falls in love with a young cop in the course of a few adventurous days together as fugitives, on the run and handcuffed together (a la "The Defiant Ones" and "Tiger Cage 2"). Her divided loyalties provide the dramatic tension in the film, along with the fact that her triad benefactor's right hand man (and main gunman) - played by Lam Ching Ying in his wonderful brooding style - is not-so-secretly infatuated with the young woman too. Of course, there is a dramatic conclusion in which everybody is brought together, and some things get resolved.
