I was quite surprised by and impressed with Sammi Cheung: she's a real, natural actress (I've admired her alto voice, if not her typically sappy song material before). And Gigi Leung accomplishes the impossible: she makes Dior look like he can act, by comparison! I guess she gets work because she is the only human who looks exactly like those saucer-eyed manga heroines. I also thought the first half of the movie was kind of fresh and witty, but then things collapsed into standard romance-denoument. I expected more from Joe Ma.
