It has most of the elements of Chinese Ghost Story. The lovely Joey in silks, lush photography, demons and blue bloods. Don't get me wrong. I'll watch Joey in anything, particularly when given the glamour treatment in flowing silks.
But there's not a lot else. Generally, the pace is really slow, and Wu Ma just doesn't seem to be able to manage to direct things with nearly as much zest and flair as Tsui Hark.
