How to Be a Millionaire (1989)

Summary: Funny, but bad
How To Be A Billionaire Without Really Trying (as the title on my VCD) is bascially a copy of the US movie 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying', but fails badly.

It's a comedy, a bit far fetched, more of a 'Mo Lai Tou' more than anything (a bit like The Banquet if you've seen it).It tells the story of Raymond Wong who comes to the city from being a 'country bunkin' and trys to get on with the lifestyle difference in the main city. "Yes" you're thinking, this has been done many times before - true enough, but it is funny. The story drags for ages at the beginning, in fact it doesn't get intestesting until the final 30 minutes, but luckily there are some funny jokes during the dull initial hour.

If you get the chance to see it, then it's worth doing so if you like the 'Mo Lai Tou' comedies that people like Sandra Ng, Dodo Cheng and Stephen Chow have made famous in Hong Kong. Otherwise, it's not worth seeing, because film-making side of things are terrible as is the story (what there is of it).
