The Swift Shaolin Boxer (1978)

Summary: Very colourful
This is a flashy vehicle designed to show off the talents of quite a lot of great action stars. So much so that one is puzzled that Barry Chan was chosen to be the lead actor. Even though his fighting skills are pretty good, he has nowhere near the screen presence of many of his co-stars.

Anyway, for better or worse, he's the main focus of this weird and confusing tale from about 15 minutes in. (Before that, there are two other viewpoint characters who are fairly quickly killed off).

There's plenty of action, most of which is of a high standard and quite entertaining, and a few nice looking fem fighters to look at, including of course the lovely Angela.

What can I say about the ending ? Without giving it away, I can say that it is a stunningly stupid ending. Even considering this, I still warmly recommend this film.
