Summary: Warning : gambling can corrupt you !
The print I watched of this film was of quite poor quality, mostly with a green and washy picture. The opening scene, with the two lead characters as boys I found silly and rather annoying, but the credits sequence, which followed, had me hooked. The surprising choice of the Hawaii-5-0 theme and the gambling images works very nicely.

The remainder of the film I found quite watchable, though far from a classic. There's not as much fu as there could have been, and for the first 3/4 of the film is pretty poor. For instance, most of the punches are very obviously pulled. The final fights are a lot better.

Probably I enjoyed this because of the good cast, and that I'm a big fan of Chang Yi and Raymond Lui, and also because the script is quite well done.

Not a great film, but not bad either.
