Summary: aka Parents' Love
A real tearjerker (in the good sense).

Hard times all around before the '60s economic miracle. This is the story of one family.

Chan (Cheung Wood Yau) and Mei (Pak Yin) raise a family of four, five after the birth of a new baby. When Chan gets laid off his teaching job, the family struggles and the kids try to pitch in.

A lot of heart rendering scenes including the sharing the blanket scene, the kids begging in the street, the farewell scene.

Law Lan plays one of the cousin's mahjong playing buddies.

Four hankies.
