Actually, Donkey Kong aside, I am really lamenting this whole Gong Li in Miami Vice thing. Michael Mann is obviously a top-flight 'guys with guns' director...but I cringe at the thought of her being in this...

Agreed.

Looking at those photos, I wonder if Gong Li used that Paris Hilton/Louis Koo instant tanning cream. Didn't she used to have really light skin? Did they try to 'Cubanize' her for the film? Early reviews for the film haven't been spectacular either. Ever since Zhou Yu's Train she's had a hard time trying to make a comeback. She deserves better, somebody give her a real role.

Well, it is set in Miami. Even a sexy bookkeeper for a drug cartel has to find some time to tan, surely? :wink:
