In the Wall Street Journal for Friday, September 8, there is an article on Du Juan. I read it in the print edition—the text is available at the url below.

The hook was that while she is much in demand in New York, Paris and Milan she isn't much sought after in her native China where they want Caucasian models for luxury goods.

It also mentions that her cover on French Vogue really launched her career in Europe and that she now gets (when she is able to find the time since she is so much in demand otherwise) $15,000 per day for catalog work.
