Help Me Eros tells the tale of Ah Jie (Kang), a broke and destitute man who spends his days tending the marijuana plants he grows in a wardrobe. The stoner calls a hotline for help and gets to know Chyi (Liao Hui-chen, 廖慧珍), whom he falls in love with. Chyi repeatedly rejects Ah Jie, so he hits on Shin (Ivy Yi, 尹馨), a "betel nut beauty" who has a stall near his apartment.

In Taiwan, they have little curbside stands from which they sell betel nuts, which are very popular, especially in the south. I've never chewed one, but they have a stimulating effect and can produce euphoria. They also stain your teeth red and, like chewing tobacco, you have to spit horrible looking red juice onto the pavement.

These stands are staffed by pretty, sexily dressed young women. They're not prostitutes, they just know how to present their merchandise - the betal nut - in a way that attracts the male buyer. The guys drive up and the girl will deliver the betal nut to them through their car window.
