Lydia Shum Leaves Hong Kong Forever
Summary:
- Lydia Shum’s body has been transported to Vancouver, Canada by air freight
- At nine o’clock in the morning, her body left the Shatin’s Po Fook Hill
- Lydia would be buried next to her parents at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby
- The hearse was covered by hundreds of white roses and leaves
- There were no special pictures or names displayed on the hearse
- Also no relatives or friends were in the hearse but it was followed by police and press
- Lydia’s coffin is not a traditional Chinese one but a westernized style similar to Leslie Cheung
- Lydia’s “Happy Fruit” image was preserved because Lydia had her trademark eyeglasses, hairstyle and her favorite “special dress”
- Some of her favorite dresses and clothing were chosen to be burial goods
- At the airport, the coffin was placed in the metal cargo transport and loaded onto the plane; the fee is approximately HK$30000-HK$40000
- Joyce Cheng and Florence Su-Fen Chen accompanied Lydia on the same flight to Vancouver
- Joyce appeared tired and thin. She did not respond to reporters’ question.
- Joyce and Florence made arrangements to board the flight using the workers’ gate but they went to the wrong gate. They were swarmed by the press and needed airport personnel to escort them
- Lydia’s funeral is scheduled for February 27 (Pacific Time)
- There would be no viewing of the decease. Lydia would be buried immediately after the service is done. But the details would be worked out after Joyce and Florence reaches Vancouver.
- The organizers arranged the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and security personnel from Hong Kong to keep order that day.

It looks like the simplified version of 中國人 Jung Gwok Yan - Chinese person. Is that Guilin?
