I blame Bai Ling for being a bad role model.

With so many teens going abroad on class trips, the teen's father has some advice: thoroughly warn them the rules are not the same.

"She obviously had no idea of the ramifications or she wouldn't have done it," he said. "It's like a capital offence. She's a teenager. She really is a good kid."

That's right, cultural norms are different. In the US, it would have been no problem.

:D

"She obviously had no idea of the ramifications or she wouldn't have done it" Yeah, sure she wouldn't have, Pop . . .

I'm just bummed that these damned kids today get to take class trips to Hong Kong! When I was a boy, we were lucky if we got a class trip out to some farm to watch a cow get milked or maple syrup drip from a tree. Sure as hell wasn't much worth stealin' out there. Well, 'cept maybe some maple syrup.

Now, where'd I leave my teeth . . .

15-year-old is not old enough to tell whether shoplifting is right or wrong? Both the father and the daughter why not have a look at this:

Seems like US is a better place than HK at this point. Under Cap 226 Juvenile Offenders Ordinance s. 3 Age of criminal responsibility:

It shall be conclusively presumed that no child under the age of 10 years can be guilty of an offence.

To compensate, you can join your children's class trips in future. :)
