Louis Vuitton Soundwalks feature Joan Chen, Shu Qi, Gong Li
Louis Vuitton unveils its first digital product today, taking the plain travel guide to a new level. SYIDA LIZTA AMIRUL IHSAN writes. THIS is what happens when you let Louis Vuitton roam free. It randomly picks out a mundane activity and turn it into something cool and coveted you’d want to get your hands on it. Or in this case, ears.

Founded on travel, Louis Vuitton makes handmade suitcases in monogram canvas to withstand travelling pressure. It has travel notebooks where you jot down your experiences on its illustrated pages. Ten years ago, it came up with city guides.

This year, it combines an audio travel guide (the kind that you listen to on tourist buses), dramatic tales and the portability of an MP3 player for the Louis Vuitton Soundwalk.

With this, when you walk in, for example, Hong Kong’s Man Mo temple, Chinese actress Shu Qi’s voice can guide you through the magnificent structure.

“Let’s go inside the temple now. Walk straight through the gates. Now go inside. Surrender yourself to the incense. Cross the courtyard. Enter the temple. Are you inside now? Turn right and keep to that side. On your left, you see a coiled incense hanging from the ceiling. They can burn for a month.â€

interesting piece from a cleverly-named blog ;) . I especially like this article that he links to:

New drive to better protect Olympic Games' rights
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/olympics/2 ... 757713.htm

All lawful rights and interests of owners of Olympic symbols will be fully protected according to the provisions of the Olympic Charter, agreements between the Chinese government and the International Olympic Committee, and the Copyright Law and Regulations on the Protection of Olympic Symbols.

Ya gotta giggle . . .
