Zhang Ziyi a homicidal maniac in The Horseman
Costars with Dennis Quaid
Premieres Jan.23 in Italy

Didn't even know about this, but on reading some of the threads at IMDB, it sounds like a troubled piece of work. Opens in March in the U.S.

I agree - I'm not buying it, no matter how tough she tries to look.

Gee, another celebrity who embraces Christianity after making a popwreck of themselves and destroying the life of another person. I'm so surprised! Glad those characters she plays give make her feel so much better about what she did.

Hilarious! Though I'm kinda surprised China didn't make it's own list for hurting the feelings of Chinese people. Anyways, now I gotta go figure out what Canada said that was so hurtful.

Zhang Ziyi, Dennis Quaid to star in crime thriller 'Horsemen'
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2006/11/ ... _Movie.php

Well, at least Zhang is trying something different. I still give props to Sammi Cheng for Everlasting Regret, and Charlene Choi for Diary for trying something atypical of their personas.

The Horseman will probably be dismal but at least it's an attempt to stretch (and break into Hollywood). Of course, that was two years ago, pre-Vivi.

Director Jonas Akerlund's bio in Wikipedia is interesting:

Hi guys,
From the Beggar Su pics, the actor known as "Li Liegong" is Cung Le, a world champion in kickboxing, a former K-1 champion, a MMA champ and a champ in Sanshou. He plays the Brigand Chief, who resembles the Bull Demon King from Journey to the West. The film marks his Hong Kong debut yet he has worked on films in the USA, including the upcoming Tekken movie as Marshall Law.
