Chow is so cool to talk openly about this! Proving that he's a classy guy once again. I should add that the plastic surgery worked--he's still remarkably hot for a guy in his fifties. :P I bet Andy Lau's had a little bit of work done, too.

Mr. Chen was surrounded by several husky men from a private security firm as he walked through the courthouse. His assistants told the media he would not be available for a news conference or interviews. As his motorcade of two cars was rushing out of the courthouse parking lot, bodyguards knocked two reporters to the ground and pushed a Globe and Mail photographer into a police cruiser.

Not that this is exactly uncommon treatment of today's overzealous media sluggos, but I'm sure it will only bolster Chen's "cred' in certain circles. Of course, if he was late for his appearance at a Burgerama opening across town, then I could understand it . . . :)

Yeah, I was really surprised to read this, though I guess I shouldn't have been. No doubt, the list would be loooong.

"I never showed them and never intended for anyone to see them," he said. "Those were all very private matters and never intended to be seen by anyone but myself. ... no one should have this but me."

Sounds like more spin to me. Didn't he reportedly show these pics to his boyz?

I'm determined to protect their innocence.

Let's start one! Andy Lau, Stephen Chow, Francis Ng, Tony Leung Ka-Fei--who else wants to blindly speculate? Or we could do the women, too--Maggie Cheung, Michelle, Yeoh, Carina Lau--

Or is this too gossipy?

 Stop it, Dennis! You're scaring me.

Honestly, I just don't get the quest for perfection. As for me, I'm a big lover of pungent or imperfect beauty. But what do I know, I think...

Tang Bik-wan's eyes are sexy

Fung Fung is actually kind of handsome

And then there's my favorite "ugly duckling" Sandra Ng, who I hope never gets an ear reduction!

Or how about the surprisingly beautiful Yung Yuk-yi...

who later in her career would seem to delight in playing hideous women!

Wow. Those skin peel shots are a treat, aren't they? :? It's like she temporarily became Caucasian! I'm with Dave: I don't really see the point since most of these people were obviously beautiful and/or talented enough to land gigs in the first place, but then again, these industries the world over do attract a certain type . . . vain, insecure, self-conscious . . .

I forgot that Sing Lung has admitted to eyelid surgery in his younger days--any augmentations since then? His face is pretty weathered at this point so he can't be the worst offender.

Can I add Louis Koo to my unfounded speculation list? His ears were pretty batlike in Bullets Over Summer but they seem to have been pinned since then. No word on that tan, though.

Louis Koo's tan scares me.
Never saw any floppy ears on him, except this one:

Yeah, something about them always beguiled me. Sort of reminds of Jayne (or is it Audrey, or both?) Meadows.

Here's the best I can do re: Louis Koo's ears circa 1999. It's a still from Bullets Over Summer.

I tried to find a more recent one for comparison's sake but he seems to not take pictures from the full front angle anymore. He's also got better and move expensive haircuts now--the better to hide his prominent ears?

Our own gallery for Koo has more shots as well.

I'm not convinced he's had ear work done. I think you may be right about the hairstyle drawing attention away from them, or perhaps his face has filled out a bit with age?

That doesn't look too bad. I've seen worse. I looked at early TVB-era photos but he had longer period styled hair, maybe he _was_ hiding them.

Okay, I'm rescinding my accusation against Louis Koo and his ears. I watched "Throwdown" last night & it's definitely the haircut that's keeping his ears hidden. It's a really good haircut--not only does it cleverly conceal his ears but it makes his face a better shape, too. Still way too tan, though.
