Zen Kwan Do vs Kung Fu Leung

Postby STSH » Fri Sep 22, 2006 3:25 am

Frank L's review
http://hkmdb.com/db/movies/reviews.mhtm ... ay_set=eng

states that the cast for
Zen Kwan Do Strikes Paris
does not relate to
Kung Fu Leung Strikes Emmanuelle
, which is listed as an alternate title.

Does anyone have enough info to split off
Kung Fu Leung Strikes Emmanuelle
as a separate title ?

I have both movies (German tapes).

One is "Zenkwando Strikes in Paris" and the cast and crew belongs to that movie.
The review and maybe (I'm not sure) the title "Kung Fu Leung Strikes Emmanuelle" belongs to a movie I know as "Ninja in the Claws of the CIA" with John Liu, Casanova Wong, Gam Biu and European actors like Christian Anders (a German singer) and Roger Paschy (he is also in the other movie).

I'm not sure to what of the two movies the BIG 5 title at the database belongs. I think (and hope very much) it belongs to "Zenkwando Strikes in Paris". The reason why I think it belongs to "Paris" is the HKFA entry with Alan Chui listed in the cast (he is only in "Paris" and not in "Ninja in the Claws of the CIA"). The English title at HKFA is "Kung Fu Leung strikes Emmanuelle".

I think I found the chinese title of "Zenkwundo in Paris" at Taiwan Cinema
http://tc.gio.gov.tw/ct.asp?xItem=17176&ctNode=38

It should be 忍拳威震巴黎 which means ['Endure-the fist-power' shakes Paris].

I watched "Zenkwundo in Paris" in DVD (english credits) and I am sure they are different movies, too. In the DVD appears the chinese name of Zen Kwun Do and 2 characters are the same as the title:

If nobody stops me in 15 days I will create a new movie.

Somebody changed the Chinese and English title alias of "Kung Fu Leung Strikes Emmanuelle" to "Zen Kwun Do Strikes in Paris" instead of "(Ninja) in the Claws of CIA". Why?

If nobody stops me in 15 days I will change them again.

That is really a confusing matter. I have seen both movies, but always with German titles/credits.
The facts I have collected (maybe it is helpful):

Movie 1:
Zen Kwun Do strikes in Paris
Directed by John Liu
With John Liu, Roger Paschy, Alan Chui, Tino Wong, KG Young, Dan Schwarz, Wong Chi-Ming, Siu Tak-Foo, Peng Kang, Lam Gwong-Wing, Chu Siu-Wa, Mau Ging-Shun

Movie 2:
In the Claws of the CIA
Ninja vs (the) CIA
Made in China
Directed by John Liu
With John Liu, Casanova Wong, Roger Paschy, Gam Biu, Christian Anders

Now the only question for me is if "Kung Fu Leung strikes Emanuelle" 艾曼妞火拚功夫良 is the alias of movie 1 or movie 2.

For movie 1 speaks that the HKFA entry with this title

http://ipac.hkfa.lcsd.gov.hk/ipac20/ipa ... ex=FILMBRP

has Alan Chui in the cast. Looks also like the cast at your link at the post above.

That page has a chinese title of CIA:

I don't know if that is helpful.

OK sorry.

Maybe the director of "In the Claws of CIA", 約翰 路易士 (John Lewis) is actually an alias of John Liu.
