Intertitles and credits included.
ID'd crew removed, but all acting credits included.
Unfortunately, the first panel of acting credits landed in 4th place, due to the image failing to load first :(

The stars.

Chen Fang ID'd.

Ku Feng ?

These actors are not credited.
Anyone ID them, or to delete ?
Ma Hsiao-Nung ... [uncredited]
Chan Ching ... [uncredited] -> Lily Chen Ching
Hung Hung (1) ... [uncredited]

Lee So (2) is also not credited.
I believe this is an incorrect reading of Sha Lee i.e. the same two chars, but in reverse. Delete ?

Considering that movies were all made in Mandarin in the mid-60s, I propose the primary names of actors be changed to Mandarin form, with English names. If anyone knows that they were known otherwise, speak up.

Mok Sau -> Lily Mo Chou
Mak Ling -> Mai Ling
Louis Luk Yue -> Louis Lu Yu
Tong Dik -> Tang Ti
Ko Cheung -> Ko Xiang
Ma Kim-Tong -> Ma Chien-Tang
Sam Yuet-Wa -> Shen Yue Hwa
Steve Chan Ho -> Chen Hao
Maggie Lee Lam-Lam -> Li Lin Lin
Hui Yuen-Yuen -> Hsu Yuan Yuan
Kong Bo-Lin -> Xiang Bao Lian
Hon In -> Han Yin

I don't see Chan Ching in this gallery. The name is not in the credits, and I submit that it is likely to be an HKFA mistake ..... unless someone can ID her in one of the pics.

Tong Dik -> Tang Ti

:? Ah, one of my pet peeves that I can't let pass without comment.

This is misleading.

I can't put my hands on it at the moment but I once summarized from various HKIFF publications the number of HK films by language to address this issue elswhere. I'll continue to search for it but what I recall is that Chor Yuen's House of 72 Tenants (1973) marked the return of Cantonese language films. So, 1970-1972 would most likely be the years no Cantonese films were made.

Just look at the selective filmographies of Connie Chan (38 films in 1965, 37 films in 1966, 33 films in 1967, 20 films in 1968, 10 in 1969) and Josephine Siao (13/1965, 30/1967, 19/1968, 11 films in 1969), Walter Tso (20+ in 1965), Nam Hung (17 films in 1967), as examples.

And Tong Dik made nearly 30 films in Cantonese in the mid '60s and apparently directed one, too.

Now to continue searching for that file.

Kong Bo-Lin -> Xiang Bao Lian

Of the 40+ films listed in our db, I think this is the only one in Mandarin.
HKFA recognizes her as Kong, Po-lin

I recommend reversing.

Fascinating. Do you have number on Mandarin films as well ? I think it would be interesting to compare the yearly ratios.

Chan Ching is listed as second name on the HKFA cast list:

If she is not in the movie credits I delete the name. I still wait for my ordered DVD.

No, I might be able to back into it from totals/year, but it'll require me to dig out my boxed up publications and do a recount. Another project!

I will reverse Kong Bo-Lin -> Xiang Bao Lian if there are no objections.

Trying to backfill the roles to match the images posted.

Admittedly, I'm a bit confused. Aren't the images for Mai Ling and Sum Yuet Wah the same character in the movie, Hu Aniang/Yingning in story 1?
Looks more like Mai Ling to me.

Here's my side by side captures.

Also, is there an image for the Sun Deyan character in the first story? I couldn't find him in the current gallery.

Fair enough. I'm convinced.

Sun Deyan ?
I just ripped the movie without sound or subtitles, so I've no idea of the character names.
