The Snake Strikes Back

Summary: At least Elton gives it his all in his performances........

A Korean production dubbed, edited, and ripped off by Joseph Lai IFD productions. If you're an easy going person and don't have anything worthy to watch, then you might dig Chong's performance and this movie. At least Elton gives it his all in his performances; he is infamous for taking the best ass kicking in kung fu movie history. Beside sthat, the action is well choreographed and the trick special effect of Han Ying being crushed by Elton Chong's belly kung fu is quite entertaining. Mike Wong is always appreciated as the old master, with a beer belly this time. Fun if you have nothing better to see, but that's about it. **/*****

Summary: Average

Hmmmm….the Snake Strikes Back is neither great or bad. The biggest problem with this is the same as a lot of the early Kung Fu films…and that is that the acting is just atrocious! The fight scenes as well as the over all story is actually good though.

Not one I would recommend to Kung Fu fans, but you could certainly do worst.

Summary: Not bad

I had often wondered about Elton Chong's appeal to an audience. Now, having seen a few of his pics, I am still wondering. Far from handsome (he looks rather like Bat Leung Gam on a good day in this film) and mostly very serious, he ploughs around this picture getting humiliated and seeking revenge. His support cast make this one quite enjoyable, especially Mike Wong as the pot-bellied beggar/master.
