The Legal Illegals

Summary: Mediocre early 80's Alan Tang action

Alan Tang and Stanley Siu Wing are known for making dcent well made movies. Their movies weren't stylish or even that special, but whatever they did, they did it well and they did it originally. This is another exalple of that, this time it starts out interesting as a cop movie, with Tang chasing Chan Wai man, but the story quickly degenrates into a light action comedic buddy revenge theme. Chan Wai Man stars as the villain, which should have elevated the quality of the story and action, but Chan's status is that of a cameo and his action scenes are a few punches brief, using his gun more than his fists. Not bad if you have nothing to watch, but don't expect anything interesting to happen. Check out Tang and Stanley Siu Wing's best movie together, Winner Takes All(1983) instead. Mega Star released Legal Illegals(1981) on VCD in a poor transfer. It's a rare release since there are very few releases of his movies on major labels. 1.5/5
