The Lost Generation

Fine acting from a star-studded cast, with a lovely theme song. The plot is basically a meandering soap opera.
The movie opens with a group of mainlanders in detention. Each is given a quick interview by an official, who marks a paper, then selects who is to be allowed out.

Several of the successful ones have their stories told, mainy around the people associated with a particular hotel.

The huge number of characters and complete lack of focus makes the story hard to follow and is therefore of only mild interest. Only the outstanding cast make this film worthy of any attention.
