Summary: Not Bad...Actually Quite Good!

I first saw this movie at a local Asian grocery store. I am a fan of Simon Yam, so I became interested when I saw his face on the cover of the VCD. It had no English subs, or even writing on the cover. An employee of the store loosely translated the name of the film to "Jail Cop".

Anyway, I took the movie home and watched only the very beginning or so, telling myself that I would "get to it later". Well, I finally found a version of this movie with English subs being sold as: "Sha Jie Ying Xiong". I had no idea I was ordering the same movie but figured it out after seeing the familiar first five minutes.

Simon plays a cop that has just been released from jail after serving some years there. He claims he is innocent of all charges, and was in fact "framed". I was a little disappointed at this stage, because the movie then completely switches focus to Alex Man who plays the cop that arrested Simon all those years ago. Fans of Alex won't mind this at all of course. Simon goes on to try and get revenge on those who arrested him, and actually even sets up Man's cop character "Rambo" of a crime. You can probably tell by the name that "Rambo" is you’re typical over the top 80's police officer that shoots first and sorts everything else out later. It kind of works in this film however! The plot does keep you guessing, and towards the end, you are left trying to figure out just exactly who are the good guys, and who are the bad! Simon's character gets some more airtime towards the end, and it does lead towards a satisfying action shootout ending. Overall, an entertaining late 80's HK action flick.
