Summary
In 1894, the Japanese army invaded Lushun and massacred civilians. Ah Shan (played by Lau Sau Ping) tried to save her lover Ah Gui (played by Kwan Lai Kit), but caused Ah Li (played by Zhou Huimin) to be raped by Japanese soldier Amano (played by Cheng Ka-sang). Ah Gui felt guilty about this. Afterwards, Gui and Ah Shan were separated and injured. He was rescued and brought back to Japan by a Japanese soldier Kurata (played by Yu Ka-lun) who hated the cruel war. A few years later, Ah Gui learned the technology of manufacturing arms in Japan. At that time, the Boxer Rebellion rose in China. Ah Gui thought there was hope for saving the country, so he returned to China to pledge his loyalty. Following Lord Kang (played by Bao Fang) to make arms. Gui meets Chan and Lai. Chan has become the mother of the Boxers and asks Gui to rekindle their old love; Lai has fallen into prostitution, and Gui's pity for her turns to love. The three of them have an entangled love triangle. On the other hand, Gui finds that the Boxers are just a mob. Disappointed, he and Lai live in seclusion in the countryside, but are caught by the eldest brother of the Boxers (played by Li Chengchang), who accuses them of colluding with foreigners and wants to execute them. - translated from Chinese description of video.
