Summary
Carole and Mandy have just become neighbors in a luxury apartment complex. Mandy is a successful career woman, educated and independent. Carole is a kept woman, dreaming of the day when her businessman lover will divorce his wife to marry her. Through Mandy, Carole meets Edgar, a neurotic headwaiter. She breaks off her affair with the businessman, but Edgar is still masochistically involved with his old girlfriend Alice. Carole realizes that she still has a lot to learn about life. And nothing is going to stop her from learning it. [from the Rim Films Catalog] The free-spirited Carol Cheung thinks of herself as a one-woman man, and her man is the rich and married Edward Sung. But one night, she goes out to dinner with her neighbour Mandy and boyfriend Charlie, and they witness another couple fighting. They are Edgar and Alice. Alice is having dinner with Hiroshi. Carol, always unpredictable, is exasperated by the scene, and tells all three of them off. The next day, she regrets the action ... or does she ? Whatever, she decides to apologize to them. This is the first of many times she says "I am sorry". What follows is a light and quite pleasant romance with dashes of comedy and bitterness. Edgar and Carol are of again on again, Edward neglects her then wants her back just as she's leaving him, her more mature neighbour gives her occasional advice. Edgar rejects her, and she goes back to work in the family fish business. But it's not for her, so she returns to HK to look for Edgar ... or does she ?
