Wong is an idealistic young intern, the son of a doctor. Wong writes an honest report about the state of the hospital, which offends the administrator, Dr Chu. Worse, Chu's lovely girlfriend Anita begins to notice what a bastard Chu is, and is attracted to Wong. Chu fails Wong at his medical exam (for the above two reasons), but Wong continues on. When his Dad has an attack of appendicitis (during which he helps a number of other patients waiting in the hospital !), Wong illegally operates, and is nearly caught. But the big trouble starts when Anita, who is always getting headaches, collapses. A brain scan reveals a tumor. The only doctor qualified to operate is Chu, but he has just declared her persona-non-grata because she turned down his marriage proposal. Still steaming, Chu refuses to operate. With the help of his friends and Chu's teacher (now an alcoholic wreck), Wong helps operate on Anita. But can she be saved ? Or can they even finish the operate before the vengeful Chu catches them ?
