Biography

	Owing his early-career accomplishment to Hsu [Pu-Liao] Kevin Chu continued with an extremely successful collection of blockbuster films after Hsu’s death. Specializing in crowd-pleasing comedies for all ages, Chu directed or produced one record-breaking movie after another for the rest of the 1980s, earning him the title of Taiwan’s king of comedy. Local audiences flocked to theatres to see films bearing the Kevin Chu label - George Chun Han Wang, A Brief History of Taiwanese Comedy Cinema.
