This is an okay girls-with-guns movie with the overused plot of the hot-headed Hong Kong cop (Khan) having to work with the straight-laced Mainland detective (Hu). There's a good amount of action, but none of it is really all that exciting. Even though Khan and Hu were in a good number of these kinds of movies, I feel their star power was based more on the strength of their supporting casts rather than themselves, since neither seems to be all that talented in martial arts. The supporting cast here provided a bit of a spark, but overall, Way of the Lady Boxer is a fairly bland mix of drama and action, and should be left on the rental shelf unless you really have nothing better to do.
