Summary: An above average A class Golden Harvest production that is well worth your time........
This is Wei Pei's only starring role for a Golden Harvest movie(Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung were hogging Raymond Chow's attention), and last roles ina Golden Harvest movie. After leaving the Shaw Brothers, Golden Harvest thought Wei ahd star quality, Wei wa scasted in Young Master with another new face to Golden Harvest, Jackie Chan. AT the time, too much marketable talent was pouring into Golden Harves, including Sammo Hung, and Wei was left behind. This movie was to experiment with his marketability, and he is a natural lead, and holds the movie together quite well. The movie is shot and acted in a clean careful way, so it's quite a relaxing experience to watch it, and the choreography is A class quality, as the final fight includes vicious Wu Shu choreography. The ending is not a happy one, as the dramatic endings were rare in kung fu movies at that time. An above average A class Golden Harvest production that is well worth your time. ****1/2/*****
