I am not sure if this is the first film that Connie Chan Po-Chu and her sifu Yam Kim Fei were in it together, however this film has given me a last impression of the talents of a quite young Chan Po-Chu. At age 12, her performance is solid in her singing, acting a presentation abilities.

The story is about a maid in the castle(Ng Kwun Lai) and the prince(Yam Kim Fei). They are in love but the dynasty was at the mercy of the Gin people and the prince was forced to marry the Gin princess (played by Yam Bing Yee). Meanwhile Ng becomes pregnant and was ousted of the castle. She returns home to her father (Lan Chi Pak) and she soon gives birth to a son (Chan Po-Chu). She tries many times to tell the prince that they have a son but prince was forbidden to see or talk to her.

12 years later, the son grows up and only knows that (his) father is a terrible person. (he) goes hunting and meets up with the prince who admires this youngster and grants him a title. The mother is angry that the son knows of rich and greed. The son finds out that the prince is now the emperor and is a puppet emperor as that. (he) goes to the castle to return the robe and gifts and causes a big scene. Finally Ng Kwun Lai comes to take her son home and now the prince knows that is (his) son. In that moment, the prince gets rid of the Gin princess and was not afraid to face whatever consquences.

The happy ending is that the family unites and that Ng has forgiven her husband.
