To Kill a Jaguar (1977)

Summary: A smart film, maybe too smart
TO KILL A JAGUAR is a decent movie with a rather in depth plotline. Therein lies the problem. With everyone double crossing everyone it starts to become irrational. In the end there's no heroes just villains.

Watching the Celestial cut release makes this even harder to foliow as there are obviously scenes cut out. The poor editing really stands out. I don't want to kill the script as this isn't the script that was intended for the viewer to see.

I wasn't very fond of the performances here either. Nora Miao was ok and I thought Fan Mei-Sheng's character was killed off too quickly. Other than that nothing stood out for me.

The action was ok, with the highlight being the final fight scene. As much gun play as there was Kung Fu. Most scenes were well paced.

Overall it was an average experience, I would like to view the uncut version one day to get a better sense of what the Director was going for. As it was, it came off a little too intricate for its own good.
