Summary: groovy spy thriller 1960s
Asia-Pol is a brilliant 1960s james Bond-esque spy thriller. Jimmy Wang Yu plays the lead superbly, in a story that is good and has several good performances.
The story goes from Japan to Hong Kong to Macau, is fast paced and I found it genuinely thrilling and well written. There are some funny moments too and the settings are spot on, I love seeing HK shots from the 1960s, and the music fits the story like a hand in a glove.
I eagerly sat down to watch this film with high hopes and it did not disappoint me in the least. I loved it and seeing Jimmy Wang Yu in a "modern day" role, just another bonus. I highly recommend it.
