Summary: what as romantic, musical ghost
This film from 1967 is an exceptional movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it has a good story line and script, great acting, real drama, romance and enough "ghostliness" to satisfy on all these different levels.
The 2 lead roles, Li Li Hua plays the rebel scholar to perfection and Li Ching is outstanding as the 2 sisters, one very much alive and evil and one very much ghostly yet good. Both are wonderful in their roles and I discovered that they both had prolific acting careers and no wonder!
The story is well written and while not altogether original, there are a few twists that I didn't see coming. I won't go into the story, I wouldn't like to spoil it but I highly recommend it as a great film. The direction is well done too and keeps the film ticking along and before I knew it, 97 minutes had flown by! Well worth watching!
