An interesting premise leads to a typically bloody and well-executed plot involving the Venoms and a host of blade-wielding guards. A list of revolutionaries as well as a host of invaluable treasures are hidden in a pagoda-like building on the premises of a power-hungry prince. Once the word gets out, various mercenaries and officials are dispatched to get inside the house and steal the treasures.

House of Traps is another quality Chang Cheh and Venoms collaboration, with interesting set designs (given the budget) and choreography. It definitely manages to keep the viewers interest and the fights are well done, as would be expected from the cast involved. It doesn’t reach quite to the level of some of the classics, but it’s still an entertaining and worthwhile movie to check out.
