Really nicely shot wuxia tale with strong fights and a great soundtrack. The structure is kind of unnecessarily non-linear, but it does make for a strong opening, before jumping back in time for about half the film to fill in the context.

Xie Miao might not be the most charismatic leading man but he's able to carry the film with a good supporting cast, and he earns his keep in the action scenes.

Definitely a cut above average for modern wuxia,
