Clara Law's most accomplished film. A story of two strangers:Masatoshi Nagase is a 20 something Japanese wanderer with a videocam; Li Pui-Wai a 15 year old HK highschool student whose parents have moved to Canada. He wants good food, so she takes him home to her grandma. Beautifully shot in blue and black tones, with a typically atmospheric Tats Lau score, this film is a sometimes sardonic, sometimes gentle, quietly humorous Haruki Murakami-esque meditation on how not to be defeated by urban alienation.
