A decent adaptation of the manga (Japanese "comics") 'Dr. Kumahige' by Sho Fumimura and Takumi Nagayasu. Tony Leung plays the bearded doctor (after Chow Yun-Fat turned down the role). The movie takes several subplots from the manga (changing details as required) and add some new materials. In some ways the film is an improvement on the manga (but not always).
