When I rented it, I thought, 'cool, Wu Ma is a Taoist ghostbuster in this' but despite getting top billing and having his face plastered all over the back, he has about less than five minutes screentime. GETS KILLED OFF.

That disappointed me immensely. I should have sued them for false and misleading advertising. I had seriously looked forward to seeing Wu Ma kick some major ass, a la 'A Chinese Ghost Story' but they KILL HIM OFF? THEN use him as promotional bait to con in suckers like me? How dare they.

Reincarnation:

The rest of the action happens about 100 years after the intro with Kent Cheng as the head Taoist. After the initial disappointment, the rest of the film isn't bad actually. It never hits the tension of the first five or so minutes, bowling along at a leisurely pace, but it's still entertaining viewing. The climatical fight between Kent Cheng's gang and the demon is very fun to watch, and was the second highlight of the film. After Wu Ma's cameo, of course. 6/10
