Life Is a Moment (1987)

Summary: A little offbeat but dull
HK cinema doesn't produce much science fiction, and hasn't been very successful when it does, either artistically or commercially. LIAM is no exception.

This is really a love story dressed up as time travel. It's a very emotional story, but you'd barely know it from the mostly deadpan performances of the two leads. Alex Fong briefly flips from cool to histrionic at the end, but this is about the only time he shows any real emotion.

Along with the rather silly story, the emotional flatness is the reason I think this film is not successful.

On the plus side, Pat Ha looks sexy in the body-hugging silver suit (though her usual boyish hairstyle detracts somewhat).

Overall, not too bad for a change, but don't be in a hurry to see it.
