The Lion Roars (2002)

Summary: very good!
I really enjoyed this movie. There were maybe one or two times when the goofing and mugging tried to carry on too long, but the rest of the movie certainly hit the spot. It doesn't matter that the plot is flimsy (if you can find it), that the stars spend more time mugging and overacting than anything else; this is a comedy from start to finish, and forget the five minutes of angst and conflict at the end (it's all worked out anyway, of course).
Very funny, good set pieces, good characters well filmed and well directed. I especially liked the moment when "Seasonal" Chan offers "Moth" Liu his half of their brick… magic.
Both leads were fantastic (is Koo Tin-Lok always that colour? He looked the same in Fat Choi Spirit too) and couldn't be faulted. If you want a comedy for a Friday night, this is it.
